How long does this procedure take?

This procedure typically takes anywhere between 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on the expertise of the Extensionist. You will be comfortably reclined in a chair with a blanket and pillows. If you are pregnant, there is no need to worry! Mothers-to-Be get their lashes done and are perfectly comfortable at our shop. Is my Extensionist certified?

Oh yes! We take pride at My Chick Habit in letting you know that all our Extensionists are licensed with the California State Board of Cosmetology and professionaly certified with extensive training. We want to ensure that you have received only excellent work when you leave our shop.

What kind of extensions do you have?

We keep up with all the finest quality products and hottest trends for the lash industry. We use a high-end silk synthetic and/or mink lash. (If you request mink, prices may vary). If you are looking for something that you don't see on our menu, don't hesitate to ask us!

How long do they last?

By fully and completely following the proper after-care instructions that we will provide you upon getting your lashes done your lashes can last up to two to four weeks. Following up two to three weeks after your procedure with a 60 minute (one hour) or 90 minute (1 1/2 hour) touch up will help extend the life of your extensions. Along with proper care, touch ups are necessary to replenish fallen lashes and maintain the look you desire.

Will extensions pull out my own eyelashes?

If properly placed on your natural lashes (one extension for each one of your natural lashes) one at a time, they should not. Your natural lashes grow and shed on a cycle, just like the hair on your head. Your natural lashes shed almost every 10-12 weeks. When a natural lash falls out a new one grows and quickly replaces it. At times you might see an extension attached to a natural lash that has fallen out. This doesn't mean that the extension caused it to fall out. It's just the normal cycle of your natural lashes shedding.

Can I wear normal face make-up with my lash extensions?

Yes! You can always use your eyeshadows, eyeliners and any of your normal daily face products. You just won't have to spend the time you normally would with curling your lashes and/or applying mascara. No more smearing, poking yourself in the eye, or clumping. They will look beautiful 24/7!

Are there any products I should avoid while wearing lash extensions?

Yes! Your Extensionist will advise you to stay away from the following products only because they may reduce the longevity of your extensions forcing you to come back sooner for a touch up or re-application. These products may also cause your extensions to come off sooner as well. You will want to avoid the following:

  • Oily make-up removers
  • Oily moisturizers
  • Eye creams
  • Oily cleansers
  • Oily lotions
  • oily SPFs
  • Oily hair products

Oils will break down the bonding of the extension and cause your extensions to fall off sooner. Always check the ingredients of your facial products if you are not sure. To get the most out of your extensions you should only use oil free products.
